Floating Sessions

Boat Collective is pleased to bring you Perth’s first Floating Bar on the Swan River. We offer two different types of departures; Weekend Floating Sessions and our free Elizabeth Quay Floating Pop-up Bar.

Weekend Floating Sessions

With a fully licensed bar and mouth-watering food served by our attentive crew, you couldn't ask for a better way to spend an afternoon with friends. Feel free to relax with a drink on the indoor lounges, step outside and soak up the sun, or even kick off your shoes and have a dance on our grass dance floor to the sweet tunes of our resident DJ.

Sessions are running Saturdays 2-5pm!

What you need to know:

  • Boarding for the sessions commence 30 minutes prior to departure from Pier 4, Barrack Street Jetty
  • Sessions go for 3 hours and will drop you back off at Barrack Street Jetty
  • Tickets are $20 per person.
  • Group Discounts: Book 6 or more passengers and enter the code BCGROUP and you will all receive $15 tickets
  • Food and alcohol is available for purchase on board
  • Suitable for ages 21-35

Elizabeth Quay Floating Pop-up Bar (Fridays)

Cruise into Elizabeth Quay for a sun downer floating session from 5:30pm every Friday night during Spring and Summer from the 1st of September  for free! Our floating bar departs from Pier 4, Barrack Street Jetty every half an hour and cruises into Elizabeth Quay and around the Perth waters as you see the beautiful city skyline over the water. You can hop on board for one half hour loop or you can stay on board for more its totally up to you.

Sessions run from September through to May only.

What you need to know:

  • Its free to hop on board
  • We leave every half an hour from 5:30pm - 9:30pm
  • Each loop will last 20 minutes and then we will be along side for 10 minutes while passengers hop on and hop off before departing again on the half hour
  • Each loop will cruise into Elizabeth Quay and around the Perth waters
  • We don't take bookings so please just come on down. If you don't get on your preferred departure it's no problem, we will be back in 20 minutes to pick you up for the next loop
  • Food and alcohol is available for purchase on board
  • Suitable for 18+ only

Is there EFTPOS facilities on board?
Yes, our bar takes cash and cards
Where does the boat leave from and return to?
Barrack Street Jetty, Pier Number 4.
How early should we get there?
Boarding begins 30 minutes prior to departure at Barrack Street Jetty.
Is alcohol included in the ticket price?
No, but there is a fully stocked bar on board for you to purchase all beverages
Can we bring our own alcohol?
No. It is a licensed premises.
Can we get off at any point in the journey?
No, the vessel will cruise the Swan River for the duration and return back to Barrack Street Jetty
Can we swim at any point on the cruise?
No
Is there food on board?
Yes, there will be delicious hot food options as well as snacks available for purchase
Where can we park for the Floating Session?
There is very limited parking at Barrack Square in Perth. We suggest parking at Terrace Road Parking Lot or the Convention Centre. You could also consider public transport options like the Cat Bus or Transperth train or Transperth ferry.
What is the capacity of the boat?
The maximum capacity of the boat is 100 people
Can we smoke on board?
Yes, there will be a designated smoking area at the rear of the vessel
Can we sit outside?
Yes, there is outdoor seating at the front of the vessel
Where can I buy tickets?
All tickets must be purchased online
Are under 18 year olds allowed on board?
No, these cruises are strictly 18+
Can we wear thongs on the boat?
Yes!
Cancellation Policy

Boat Collective reserve the right to cancel any cruise on any given day if the minimum capacity is not reached. You will be contacted by email at least 3 days in advance and asked to allocate an alternative date or be offered a full refund. Unfortunately there will be no refunds for no-shows or cancellations. You can however pass your confirmation/booking onto a friend if you cannot make the date.

Hopefully we see you at another Floating Session in the future.

Intoxicated/Disorderly Passengers

Boat collective have the right to refuse entry to any passengers that are intoxicated. We reserve the right to remove any intoxicated/disorderly passengers from the vessel at our discretion to the nearest jetty or safe location available to the vessel.

Boarding Procedure

To board your Floating Session you must present a print-out confirmation or email confirmation on your smart phone. You must go straight to the vessel at the end of Pier 4 Barrack Street Jetty where a crew member will greet you for boarding. Please note that the floating sessions are 18+ events and you will be refused entry if you do not have valid photographic identification (Australian Drivers Licence, Passport or Australian Proof of Age Card).

Getting to your Floating Session

The Floating Session leaves from Pier 4 Barrack Square, Perth and has a pick-up/drop-off and Mends Street Jetty, South Perth and a final destination back at Pier 4 Barrack Square.

Train

The closest stop is the Esplanade Station; allow 10 minutes to walk around Elizabeth Quay to Pier 4 Barrack Street Jetty which is right near the Bell Tower.

Parking at Barrack Street Jetty

The closest parking (over a 3 hour limit) is Terrace Road Car Park which is 200m to the east of Pier 4 Barrack Street Jetty where you will find your Floating Session vessel awaiting.

South Perth Mends Street Jetty

Floating Sessions will be doing a pick up from Mends Street Jetty South Perth on certain specified floating sessions where there is long term parking available. If parking is more convenient for you in South Perth and you want to board the Floating Session from Barrack Street Jetty you can travel over to Barrack Street on the Transperth Ferry providing you allow enough time.

CAT bus

There is also a free CAT Bus (Central Area Transit) which has many pickups in the city and the “Blue Cat” has a stop in Barrack Square.

There will be Boat Collective Floating Session signs directing you to your vessel once you arrive in Barrack Square.
